Hariawal Punjab: Leading the Green Movement in Punjab & Chandigarh Areas.

Hariawal Punjab had been a pioneer in driving grassroots environmental change across the state. With a mission to reconnect people with nature, we have led large-scale initiatives that empower communities and nurture a sustainable future.

Our key contributions include:

Planting over 1 million trees in both rural and urban landscapes, creating green lungs across Punjab.
Reviving traditional water bodies and promoting sustainable water practices to combat water scarcity.
Eco – Army & “Green Brigades” in schools and colleges to engage youth in active environmental stewardship.
Organizing green marathons, cleanliness drives, and eco-awareness workshops, building a culture of conscious and collective action.

From villages to campuses, we are uniting citizens in the mission to restore and protect Punjab’s environment—one tree, one step, one voice at a time.

Advocating for Plastic-Free Celebrations and Community Kitchens:

Hariawal Punjab had been a strong advocate for eliminating single-use plastic, especially during mass kitchen (langar) services, festivals, and community functions. Through awareness campaigns and grassroots mobilization, we encourage people to shift towards eco-friendly practices that honour both tradition and the environment.

We actively promoted the use of:

Bartan (Utensil) Banks – shared steel plates and glasses for reusable dining
Leaf-based plates (petals) and other biodegradable alternatives
A complete ban on single-use plastic in community gatherings.

Celebrating all festivals as Harit Parva or Harit Festivals: Harit Maha Shivratri, Harit Navratri etc.

By integrating sustainability into cultural and religious practices, Hariawal Punjab continued to inspire collective responsibility and lasting environmental change.
